Regarding the motion of confidence in the upcoming assembly session, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that we could have proved the majority even without 19 disgruntled MLAs including Sachin Pilot. He said this at a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party on Thursday (13 August). He said, even without these 19 MLAs (Sachin Pilot and 18 MLAs who were supporting him) we could prove majority, but this does not give us happiness. We will bring confidence. “At the same time, after the Legislature Party meeting, KC Venugopal said that everything went well. Now that the Congress family is together, we will fight together against the dirty politics of the BJP. Congress party solidarity in the assembly Will stand by.
It is noteworthy that Sachin Pilot and 18 other Congress MLAs were reportedly angry with the leadership of Chief Minister Gehlot and returned to Jaipur on Monday (August 10), nearly a month after meeting Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in New Delhi. The assembly session starts on Friday (August 14) amid political developments in Rajasthan for almost a month.
Another Congress MLA Vishvendra Singh also spoke of the Congress coming together in the state. He said, “The Congress is united. The Chief Minister is the leader of the Congress Legislature Party and everybody respects him. If the BJP wants, it can bring a no-confidence motion. It is their job.” Next he said, “Whatever we heard and endured for a month is in front of you, but we remain in our dignity. I want to make it clear, I was in the Congress even before when I was removed from the Congress and even today I am in Congress and will be in Congress even further. “
Rajasthan Assembly session from August 14, BJP will bring a no-confidence motion
The assembly session will begin on Friday (August 14) after a political tussle in Rajasthan for almost a month. The session of the Assembly is likely to be very ruckus amidst the announcement by the main opposition party, BJP, of bringing a no-confidence motion against the government. The legislators of the ruling Congress and its allies met on Thursday (August 13), just a day before the assembly session began, while the BJP and its constituents also met. The Congress revoked the suspension of its two MLAs Vishvendra Singh and Bhanwarlal Sharma, but the most important event of the day was former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot meeting Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The two leaders met at the Chief Minister’s residence, in a sort of political pullout of about a month.
Earlier in the BJP Legislature Party, the party decided to bring a no-confidence motion against the Congress government. After the meeting, Leader of Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria said that the motion of no confidence will be brought in the session of the assembly starting on Friday. Kataria said, “We are coming to a motion of no confidence from our side. We have taken all the points in our proposal which are burning in Rajasthan today.” In the morning, Chief Minister Gehlot tweeted that ‘we have to forget and forget, forgive and forgive and go ahead and fight in the fight to save democracy’.
Preparations complete for assembly session
Meanwhile, the officials said that all preparations for the assembly session have been completed. Assembly sources said the fifth session of the Fifteenth Rajasthan Legislative Assembly will take place on Friday 14 August from 11 am. It has made robust arrangements in the assembly keeping in mind the precautions to be taken to prevent coronavirus infection.
