An estimated 22-30 million migrants left cities to head again to their villages and small cities. Clearly, urbanisation just isn’t a one-way ticket to prosperity and stability for most Indian migrants. When a pandemic comes knocking, one reality is made starkly clear — there isn’t a financial safety in city India, solely restricted alternatives.
