Supreme Court to listen to Thursday plea of Rajasthan speaker in opposition to High Court order

The Supreme Court would on Thursday hear a plea of Rajasthan Assembly Speaker C P Joshi towards the excessive court docket order restraining him until July 24 from conducting disqualification proceedings towards 19 dissident Congress MLAs, together with sacked deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot.

As per the checklist of enterprise uploaded on the Supreme Court web site for July 23, a bench of Justices Arun Mishra, B R Gavai and Krishna Murari would hear the plea.

Earlier, within the day Speaker C P Joshi moved the highest court docket towards the Rajasthan High Court order saying the “judiciary was never expected” to intervene in such issues leading to “constitutional impasse”.

Seeking an interim keep on the excessive court docket’s July 21 order, the plea has mentioned that it was the obligation of the highest court docket to make sure that all constitutional authorities train their jurisdiction throughout the boundaries and respect their “respective ‘lakshman rekha’ as envisaged by the Constitution itself”.
