Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal directs DGP to investigate into conflicts in Sonitpur

GUWAHATI: While the military is saved in standby, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has requested the Director-General of police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, to inquire into the incident of clashes between supporters of the Bajrang Dal and a bunch of individuals in Bhora Singori beneath Thelamara police station in Sonitpur.

Curfew is clamped in some areas in anticipation of breach of legislation and order. On Wednesday Bajrang Dal supporters took out a rally from a temple to cheer the ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ ceremony of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

These folks alleged that they had been overwhelmed up close to a Masjid after they busted firecrackers.

Assam Police further DG (legislation and order) GP Singh has rushed to the realm. He stated that an investigation is underway and two folks had been picked up by police for questioning.

Stones had been pelted on the automobile of the Deputy Commissioner.

Sonitpur’s Superintendent of Police Mugdhajyoti Dev Mahanta instructed media individuals, “No one gave slogan “Pakistan Zindabad”. Rather people from the locality were cooperating with the police.”

Sonowal stated DGP will inquire into the incident. “I urge everyone to maintain peace and tranquillity.”

Dhekiajuli BJP MLA Ashok Singhal stated that this can be a battle between Ram Bhakts (followers) and Babur Bhakts. “In the culmination of a long-cherished dream, a group of people took out a rally for this a day of celebration. Those who are saying Pakistan Jai cannot stay here.”

He added that MLAs and different folks of the realm will meet the chief minister and urge him to provoke eviction of unlawful occupants from the realm.
